What ever you do be prepared to have a bus ticket available. They will fire you on the spot and leave you along the highway hoping you get a ride home.

You just draged up a 2 year old post from a " one hit wonder " don't expect a reply.
"one hit wonder" A person who only posts one time, leaving you to wonder why they came here and where have they gone. -
I worked for IWX for several years over all a good company, runs you as hard as legally possible, money good they do mess with you money.
They do expect you to run hard keep the door closed and be on time.
There normal on firing is to get the driver in the fuel bay have them go into see HR or safety or what ever. They will clean out the truck bag it and bring it into you. And like everywhere else getting home is probably going to be your problem.
If you got caught stealing (like selling fuel off or card) or something equally stupid they would fire you on the spot. In the years I worked for them I picked uo a couple of loads from driver that were fired on the road and one was for stealing fuel and the other was a hit and run involving a school bus.
When I quit IWX I was out of the Kingman yard, and they had a westbound driver drop me off at my house. When I took my vacation I took the tractor trailer home for 2 weeks.
I found them to be fair to work for. made good money 65+ per year. I just needed to come off the road for a while. When my daughter graduate from High School I will or plan on going back to work for them. -

I worked for Steve Colter owner of Indiana Western Express since 1993 and if you like to make decent money, drive very well maintained assigned equipment you would like working for IWX. Not once in my time at IWX did I ever hear of them kicking someone out of the truck and leaving them beside the road to find their own way back to the terminal in which they were hired at, (to much liability at stake). Those who are you sub average drivers who want to spend more time in the truck stops and such instead of being responsible for getting from point A and back there is no demand for you at IWX. Is it the best company to work for? no it is not, all companies have faults but it is one of the best west coast carriers out there and they take care of their drivers.

How long did you work at IWX or have worked? I drove for them and then was night supervisor dispatch over produce for years when it was in the old terminal in Columbus.
