Just looking for clarification as to what is required if operating a truck weighing under 11,794 kg within Alberta. According to what I can find, the truck would be exempt from CVIP, logs, or pre-trip inspection if it remains within Alberta. The attached certificate seems to support that. Can anyone point me in a direction of where I can find this info online for confirmation?

@Flint1 @Isafarmboy @Another Canadian driver you guys have any knowledge on the subject?

Anything that looks relevant on the AB website seems to come up as a broken link for me for some reason.

Sorry bud. I've never done anything commercial...or left the province... I keep stuff in top shape and haven't been hassled at scales in a loooong time.

    Best way to have it.

I guess the biggest thing is just trying to figure out is what determines the jump from non-NSC to Provincial status.

An Alberta-only carrier will need to have a safety fitness certificate when any of its trucks have a registered GVW of 11,794 kg or higher. Until then, it's non-NSC.

The only document I could find was the same as @Florescent-android92 , and I agree with his findings. I helped my neighbor navigate this a year ago with his cube van. He is non Nsc with no safety fitness.
    Great posts @Florescent-android92
