Well I’m trucking a little closer to home lately. Last week she had to call her oldest daughter to come get her at work, she couldn’t even get up in my Silverado and left it locked at work.

She’s strong as 3 rows of green onions far as her work ethics go, she never stops. In her late teenage years she drove dumptruck with her dad and brother, that kinda made the connection between us too lol….

    that's my steerman Pete….

he does all the hard work on this gig - so a steak now and then to say thanks is the least I can do.

you know how it is on this crap - they guy in the back makes it or breaks it.

When we were kids days when the school bus didn’t run were days that me and my brother got kicked out of a dump truck at the front door of the school by some woman in hair curlers and a housecoat. My mom was one of my grandfathers spare drivers before she married my dad. She wasn’t about to be stuck with two wee savages in the house over a little snow. The bus drivers caught on to that ####. When the road hadn’t been plowed they’d wait down the end of the concession road until mom left, then they’d follow her wheel marks through the drifts and get the rest of the kids.

Farmers don't take many holidays..so no idea when city slickers don't go to work.

A good steerman is a goldmine.

If I had a good crew around me, I would be happy to buy dinner.

I keep support of the bed set all in-house when it’s out. Whatever we need. Escorts, traffic control or crew they’re all our own people. Just easier on my nerves that way, and the core crew of escorts and riggers are a big part of the profit margin on that truck. I sure see it when something goes sideways on them. I spoil them rotten, but they pull miracles out of their ### for me on a regular basis.
