Give marten a try, if you don't mind sleeping in a truck. With per diem m, you will net over 60k with a little bit of work with marten. I busted my ### with sysco just to gross 4500 in 2 weeks and only brought home 2300 in 2 weeks. With Marten if I drive all 8 days I net over 2100. But I am lazy, and love to be home daily and usually miss out on a lot miles which I don't care. but I do minimal work and still make more and much happier than when I was at shytco

I would jump all over that job. At least 5-10 years ago it STOPPED be mandatory for all newbies to toil away doing OTR before they could move to what they wanted. OTR is always hiring, but local etc. are available for newbies. Newbies and us veterans need to recognize the industry is changed and to stop pushing OTR just because that's how we started.

Dude on top driving that's a 140miles of commuting. That's insane you will literally have no time for yourself and do nothing but sleep on your time off. I do local but the yard is 5 miles away.

Now if you were talking a 70 mile round trip for the day that's totally different. But 70 miles one way is asking for burnout in no time.

This is coming from experience. When I worked from here with the oilfield company I had the same commute as you. I ended up picking to work out of town for 3-4 weeks at a time and then took 7-10 days off instead of doing that ball busting drive back and forth

I felt the title of the thread was misleading, so I added some Roger Rabbit. :)

That’s messed up; as long as I’m attached to truck, I’m considered available at kllm. I got laid-over in FL leading up to Labor Day and a short run out resulting in more downtime over the holiday weekend, but still had the week bumped up thanks to the guarantee; got paid to watch tv.
