Ummm I'm gonna hafta say no on that one lol as far as fmcsa and dot goes. Because they would prolly say that "that certain driver" shouldn't be out here on the road to begin with if he/she is hurt that bad. But just between you, me and the fence post....I would say do what you (or should I say a certain driver) gotta do lol Just keep the lie book, i mean log book, legal and keep it between the 2 people. And by all means, get that wrist checked out. But on the other hand, I would hate to know that I was driving up on another driver that was impaired or handicapped that might not be able to make the right turn of the wheel in time.

My wife whom is from laredo says its down by the old truck stop off Santa maria, in the old industrial park. Shoot, she showed me on map, that is way old laredo there. I guess that's where a lot of old cold storage is/was. Be careful down there.

make sure that as soon as you get unloaded to go straight to a truck wash and have your trailer washed out. The place you are going to pick up bottles requires a clean trailer, and the trailer has to be completely dry before they will load it. If they dont see that it is freshly washed, they might reject it until it is washed out. So, by going right after unloading, you can then go to a truck stop and wait for your load time. You might want to open your trailer doors in at the truck stop to help dry it out.

Also, most of the places down there require a $70.00 lumper fee, and with few exceptions, they will not take an EFS check. So, take some cash. My first trip down there, I had to leave the trailer in the door, and bob tail to a truck stop to cash a check and go back to pay. Also, on a final note, Qualcom doesn't work very efficiently that far south.

Probably picking up cheese, make sure you don't turn the wrong direction you'll be in Mexico. I picked up imported cheese from there and took it to San Diego to be exported back to Mexico. Receiver said it wasn't safe to ship across Mexico.
