I bought the truck two years ago I haven’t changed that I’m new to this when u suppose to change the air filter ?Oxbow and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
-
Is it the engine air filter u talking about ?Oxbow and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
-
Yes. In 1985 or 6 I put a new turbo on a company truck. It had oil dripping out the flex pipe behind the turbo idling in the shop. No driver complaint just there for service. A lot of times then I just did what I was told. It still dripped oil out the exhaust with the new turbo.
That company only replaced filters when the filter minder said it was needed and it said good. I pulled the air filter. It had about 4 inches of trash in the bottom of the can and a dead bird. New filter and it quit dripping oil. That is why I mentioned it. Do inexpensive stuff first if you are not sure.spsauerland and Oxbow Thank this. -
Ok I just bought one ima try putting the air filter in first then the return line next if that don’t fix it what would be next ?
-
Is the oil forsure coming from turbo ? or is it the engine seal slosshing up against that pipe
-
Looks like is coming from turbo. When I removed that pipe I saw dry black oil on the turbo
-
Wouldn’t it also get in other things besides that pipe ?
-
yes youd most likly see it all over the front end i guess like few other guys mentioned here it could also just be oil still in the pipe from the old turbo too
Eric5220 Thanks this.
