Not really...You can be found by someone that knows what they're doing and only if they're close enough to hear you and if you are transmitting long enough, but not just by keying up.

Agreed. Triangulation is easy enough, but it still takes some effort on the part of the tracker. Notice Uncle Charlie isn't nearly as active nowadays. It takes a LOT of manpower to enforce rules on something as common as CB radios. Yeah, they'll still do it, but most 'illegal' mods go a lifetime without any penalties.
Of course, it's yet another area of the law that can be used, via selective-enforcement, to get "in". In other words, it's a great excuse to search your truck.

Just keying up would be kinda pointless, wouldnt it? Most people do talk when they key up.

Anyone who cant hear you would have no interest in finding you.

And I just used CB as an example. Most people on there probably dont know what a triangle is these days, sadly. Let alone triangulation.

You know it. To be perfectly honest, I had the department of homeland security in my truck 2 weeks ago. They didnt even need an in. Basically told me get the hell out let me in

Thats what i figured you meant. But it doesnt NEED gps for that. They can use triangulation off the cell towers without much effort. Also, just knowing what cell you are in gets pretty darn close.

This locking the phone business...very interesting. My mom said something about this to me but I thought she didnt know what she was talkingabout. It must be true since you just confirmed it. I just remember I called 911 a while back and my phone went a little weird, but it didnt lock or anything. But it said "Attempting emergency call" instead of the normal dialing display. Also, I can call 911 with no service...via cell towers im not allowed on.
