I'm mostly eastern Canada. Montreal, Toronto, Rivera du Loup, a few times to NB (the trip to Halifax was nice), and currently going to St. Thomas. I've loaded in Ottawa, IL a lot, Laurinburg mostly, and a few out of Geneva, NY or Mt Holly Springs, PA.

From what I've heard, some of the transportation drivers have gone to specilized. But I've only worked there and can't tell you what is better. I've only been a driver for just over a year and I'm happy with the pay and miles, but i'm out for a long time. The longer I stay out, the higher my miles, the more I get paid! But the longer I'm away from home. I just think that specilized gives you more flexibity as to what you can carry. Right now I'm pulling a steel coil to Laredo after carrying glass from Ottawa to MI a couple times. While the earlier trips were short and easy, Laredo is great miles, but not glass. What'll I haul back? Who knows, but I can haul it and they know it. Go specilized, and curse me every load out of PA!

I am no longer driving, but I still speak highly of them. I was in the US div and used to get home almost every weekend. Freight got real slow and I was staying out longer. If I was going to run flat OTR I would not think twice about going with them. They are a very good co. I was treated very well by them. They always went out of their way to meet any needs that I had. I had a couple issues that most co's would have said tough. I came home under a load that del to chicago on a mon morning. I had a water leak in the bathroom and had to tear my floor out. They sent a driver to my house with a empty trailer on a friday and told me take as long as I needed.

Also had damage from the ice storm and took off to work on my house for that as well. Daughter had to have surgery and I was in dallas. They got me home. It was just a few hours before the surgery, but I made it. I was also on the MI line the night before thanksgiving and they bounced me home 7 hours empty when the crane broke when I was waiting to load.

I really enjoyed working there. They are some good people. I had a few run ins with a couple CSR's, but you will find all co's have issues somewhere along the line. I really had nothing to complain about when I was with them. I ran my dac a few months ago and they said I was re-hireable. Some co's don't like it when you quit and will put under rehire review required. I quit right and they paid my way home. They are one of the 2 top co's that I have driven for. The rest have been mediocre at best.

I used to take between 800 - 1200 home with most weekends at the house. Then I got to staying out a month at a time and taking home 600-800 a week when the bottom fell out of freight.

When I say I tore my floor out this is what I meant. Before, during and after.

The other co I liked was JRS. Leased on to mercer. I do not know what kind of exp you have, but they want a lot of flat, with a very good reference and background. All long nose petes with 18 speeds. Not castrated. Not your avg co trucks. I am not real sure what flat freight is doing. Might want to holler at some of the drivers on here who are current.
