Fuel Costs for Owner Operator?

Last week was 19% for me. I averaged 7.8 mpg pulling legal flatbed freight. At the end of the year I’ll probably be around that 19-21% mark as of today.

 

Dont rely on summer fuel mpg lasting into cold weather, i have a 1-2 mpg drop between idling and winter additive depending on how cold it gets.

 

Local and short regional with a lot of idling...22.5 to 29.0 %.

It's costing me $1/mile right now just for fuel.

Heh, just had a fillup yesterday morning and was tickled pink, 56cpm fillup, 8.2 mpg.

3406e, 1994 t600. 65-70 mph, nashville tn to knoxville to chicago to iowa

Didnt hurt that my deck never had more than 20k on it

Puts me in the 18% of gross arena, realistically its nearer 20-25% most of the time

 

What rpm are you cruising at?

 

1200 to 1400, target 1325, good solid happy medium between torque and hp
