I broke the handle off mine. Dealer had a new one. Problem is, it’s 1/2”
Shorter. The marks are also 1/2”off. Result is the full mark on the new dipstick is equivalent to 2 qts. more oil than the old stick. Looks to be the same stick, only it’s twisted in a ribbon fashion the whole length, making it shorter. I prefer the old style, easier to wipe clean. Anyone else noticed this? Other part #’s are available similar to the old style. They too look to be 1/2” shorter. I could always make my own marks. Just rather keep it all original. Here’s an example, of the upgraded part numbers. Currently it holds 38 qts. New dipstick would be 40 qts. There’s also an upgraded tube design, that includes a bushing. Not sure if the new tubes shorter, if not, that would only make the problem worse. From what I’ve read the bushing can be threaded in quite a bit, making for an adjustable height.
12.7 dipstick

I needed a new one and different tube design for the Jimmy. I just went to the dealer and got the tube i wanted, and a longer dipstick.
Marked it full and added a low mark. Cut off the excess about a 1/2" below low mark and beveled the edges.Bean Jr. and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
You can have mine and everything connected to it!!
Big Road Skateboard, Rideandrepair and motocross25 Thank this. -
Dealer charged me $37. I see them as low as $12. Going back Tuesday to pick up my fan seal kit. Might just return it. It’s the principle. ( and the $20+ ) Lol. I don’t like the constant spiral design. It also looks to be made and stamped like a cheap knockoff.
JoeyJunk Thanks this.
