Yes you will have problems.

You may only use a Canadian or Mexican CDL in the USA.

You are NOT allowed to get a US CDL as an alien.

alien = NO CDL
However, you can get a non-commercial driving license.

No such thing. There is NO WAY you can driver a truck in US as an alien.

 

Have you ever heard of the E-2 visa for investors from countries that have a trade treaty with the USA? In which the investor is allowed to work for the company itself. In this case, as an owner operator. Why wouldn't it be possible to obtain a non-domicile CDL?

I have an E2 visa and am only allowed to drive on my Canadian CDL while working for my US based company.

Until I can produce a green card I’m legally not allowed to have a US CDL.

I AM allowed to have a non-CDL drivers license though.

Since your CDL is already accepted in the United States, so in fact you could not obtain an American CDL.
