Any companies that run solo drivers everywhere? I'm returning after 20 years away. Might as well be a new driver. Living in Virginia but don't need to be home all that often.

... i am not sure if i can handle another disappointment after last driver abandoned my truck ... Unless you have experience and solid references, clean record and no restriction on your CDL

Yes to everything but I'm not very experienced. I would love to work for a small company but I understand the realities of business. Maybe in few years.

You'll have to put your experience level and location to get the best help here.

You might give Swift Transportation a try....they run all over the place, & there are drivers here on the Fourm that seem happy with them:

Pass up on Schneider....since you live in VA, you probably won't see west of I-35 with them. :(

    Swiftie here.
We have a terminal in Richmond if that is any help.
OTR runs all over the country, or you could be regional in your area of choice.

After 20 years everything is different, so yes, you are a new driver now - but with some experience.

I've been here over 11 years, and always at the smaller terminals.
Richmond is one of those smaller terminals.
    Nice people to work with.

    Solo at 48?
    Like 48 years old?
I started at 55, solo and OTR for many years until I went Great Lakes Region a couple years ago.
