Some of the worst accidents I’ve seen in Calgary are in the middle of the day in July on the Deerfoot in Calgary. 3-4 lanes each way and an absolutely perfect day and then you’ll see a car sitting there on it’s roof with nothing around it. WTF?

It happens when one driver wearing flip flops has one leg up on the dash and the cell phone in one hand.

Welp I'm sure glad Im quitting soon. Love trucking, but hate sharing the road with these reckless psychopaths. As if Humboldt wasn't enough to make these people slow down and pay attention.

pretty soon we're all going to quit and the industry will be left to these reckless turds... then we will see the whole industry collapse and maybe people will open their eyes... day & ross currently being investigated is a start...

then again the humboldt truck owner is still operating under a new business number.

You now you live in a ####h0le country that gives jack SH1T about their citizens when humboldt has literally changed NOTHING federally. It's even worse now than it was before that accident.

Ironically I bet more people are killed every month by idiot drivers than in the humboldt crash . But it’s only in 1&2’s . The games people play on the road are getting ridiculous.. I honestly think experienced drivers are getting to be worse than clueless rookies because they are so aggressive nowadays .. PS some Canadian born drivers are just as bad or even worse because they think they are superior to everyone..

You're right about that. I looked into this a few years ago and roughly 225 passenger vehicle drivers are killed every year in Canada in incidents involving tractor trailers. In aggregate that would be roughly a Humboldt per month, but apparently we as a society have deemed it an acceptable level of risk to subject ourselves to in order to go camping or visit friends and family.

Canadian born drivers likely pursued this career, like, they could have done almost anything else in the world, but chose this. It wasn't just a decision based on easily gaining a residency permit. That means something doesn't it?

I blame phones for half the crashes. That and nanny systems making people less attentive/dumber.

Don't blame the phone...blame the idiots holding/talking on the phone.
