855 Cummins

I got a 855 cummin been trying to figure out if it a big cam 4 or is a small cam? Was told by someone just looking at the motor from a glance that it’s a small cam. But from what I understand a small cam was built before the big cam came out. Could someone inform me cause tired of trying to find info on the net. I added the engine tag it says ntc-315

315 is a Big Cam engine if the tag is correct. Post a pic of the cam follower boxes on the left side above the starter.

Thank those were BC III's with two spin on oil filters.

I heard big cam Cummins weren’t that good well my grandpa had one in his shrimp boat and he hated it ha ha but what’s good it would break till you turn it off
