Fresh off CDL training, what should a person be looking for to start out today?

Do you have endorsements, can you drive a stick shift?
How close do you live to Springfield, Missouri?
    Pay depends on many things:
CPM is only a part of pay. I don't pay much attention to that.
    Accessorial Pays are important.
OK, just saw on another thread you're driving for Freymiller, so my posting on this thread is irrelevant.

One driver that used to post on here was making around $1500 weekly.
This company hires new cdl school grads.
Keep in mind, this company hires new cdl school grads because they have excellent training and have a good history & success with new drivers fresh out of cdl school.

It depends on what type of trucking and what area or city. Sometimes and in some places local/home daily can pay more than OTR. I'm guessing $1000 per week.

The most important thing to me is freight volume and freight lanes. If a company don't have either of those in abundance, you won't see much consistent cash. I'm only speaking from an OTR perspective.

I jumped in already. I didn’t have time to shop around because I needed an income soon. And, I needed a place with a liberal pet policy. So, I went with Freymiller. I doubt I will be getting close to what I could’ve; but, I’ve got my student pay almost immediately. Now, I will be on my first live load this Sunday with my best friend riding shotgun. I was just wondering how my pay compares and how much I may be sacrificing to have my doggy ;)

Freymiller is a decent company. Maybe not the best, but very good.
    You probably lucked up.
Maybe next time you should ask the question before you jump.
    Good luck

I’ve been out of the company driver business a long time. But depending on other benefits if the company atmosphere is solid I would guess maybe something like $750 training and $1000 after that… but your second year I wouldn’t go under $65k unless you got something home daily.

Would think you should be able to make a minimum $1k/ week. I'm guessing around $.50/mile is pretty easy to find
