I have centramatic on mine. I prefer over weights because it balances the whole assembly. I haven't used bags.
Another Canadian driver, ProfessionalNoticer, singlescrewshaker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Bags or Centramatics, and bags for my preference due to cost. Spin balancing only affects thr tire and wheel, is worthless as soon as you pick up a rock, and even under ideal conditions, it's out od balance as the tire wears.
Beads and centramatics change with all of those conditions, and balance the wheel endomardten, blairandgretchen, Another Canadian driver and 6 others Thank this. -
I don’t believe in the beads. I did centramatics a couple months ago and I love them. Got it off Amazon for cheaper than anywhere else.

Have the centramatics on all 3 axles on both trucks. They definitely make a difference

I had centramatics on the entire truck and trailer on my last truck
They were out of stock when I went to get them for the new rig but will be adding those when I canBean Jr., blairandgretchen and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Always had better wear and balance with ceramic beads. Somebody pointed out it's cheaper and easier to pour a few ounces of antifreeze inside the tires. I had some centramatics that got hauled off with scrap metal one time so not a fan.
Another Canadian driver and Siinman Thank this. -
Never tried it but an old guy I met said he used golf balls??
Maybe noisy when rolling slow?
Maybe inside tire wear?blairandgretchen and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Have had good luck with centramatics on steers.
Bean Jr., blairandgretchen and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
I've used centramatics on steers for years.
They will do the job. The steers are lasting easy past 200 000 miles and then I put them on the trailer for additional couple of years. Round like a perfect circle.
I did consider throwing bags of beads the last time I installed the steers but the guy who was installing them said that I was better off staying with the centramatics rings because he had seen them beads chewed up the inside of the tires pretty bad. He might have exaggerated a little but still convinced me not to experiment.
I have also heard about golf balls method but for now I stick to the rings since they seem to do the job.Bean Jr., GYPSY65 and blairandgretchen Thank this.
