but I thought I would chime in and say that the hubby and I are happy at JCT... will be 3 months on the 18th. The hubby is the driver... I'm the navigator, bookkeeper, secretary, etc. We've only been truck driving for a bit over 2 years now and we are making money, hubby was a software computer consultant for 30 years prior to this.

My advice to anyone considering making a job change would be to research the company all you can, ask as many questions as possible of the drivers and recruiters... and most of all ask yourself what do YOU want.

JCT is a reefer company that has miles for people who are willing to run them. There are drop and hook runs and there are the loads you wait at the docks. We run dry loads and produce... and frozen. You will be successful if you know how to plan your routes, check your weather and road conditions, run on time or more preferably run ahead of time. Be responsible and take responsibility for the equipment and the load you are running. This is your business. Good communication is important with your DM... and shipper/consignee as needed. "It's not my problem" attitude is not the attitude of a L/O or O/O... it IS your problem... so fix it, solve it, ask for help, etc. Your attitude directly affects your bottom line. JCT gives you just about everything you need to be successful... other than driving the truck for you!

Just like no one but you controls your happiness... no one BUT you can make YOUR business a successful one!

p.s. besides we have the "Apple Pie" gang here... what more could you want... LOL!
