You're already miles ahead of most parents from what I see these days.

Under 60” is useless to us, 72” is most common. You’ll usually only see 54” spreads on trucks heading to the US.

Thanks, that's why I ask. Not that I ever plan on running out there. But interesting and like to learn. Keeping up with my tri-state area is hard enough.

Ok, some reason I was thinking 52". It does help a thick shouldered guy slide between the tandems and grease intermediate shaft. That's rather nice.

We get more weight in the east than the guys out west. We get 37,400 on 54”, 39,600 on 60” and 41,800 on 72”.

I ordered my IHC with a 60" spread and after I did Westrim made it a condition that any heavy hauler or aspiring heavy hauler that ordered a truck needed 60" spread. 72"was useless to us because it didn't count until we got to ON and east in Canada and 80% of our freight was west coast based or a small amount out of the US into ON and PQ.

Big Gordie used to run a reefer from Alberta east with hanging beef to Montreal then frozen LTL back west and he was loaded heavy he would wait on the ON side for Westhawk to close then run into Winnipeg to unload his Winnipeg LTL then off to the west.

That was my normal M.O. for West Hawk, follow that stream of chillys and cattle trucks through Fri or Sun night.

Yeah, we have some sneaky critters down here. If it doesn't kill you, it will make you very ill. And without a peep of warning.

Put on my waders this AM to go check the creek. Darned if there is not the bigger part of a tree stuck in the culvert now. Back to the shed to get the farm truck and chains. Still have to get in the water too chain it up. Soaked again, but creek is running free again.

Those darn men folk need to get back. All this wrestling with mother nature is taking its toll on this old woman.

Time for more coffee. Have a good day.
