Prime- only newbies sing the praises 2

i've been a driver for over 20 years, no preventable accidents or tickets. stopped by prime's place in springfield last may, was told by recruiter i was over their body mass guidelines. lmao never heard of being to large to be a driver.

 

So you are obese? Prime requires a BMI of under 39. CDC defines Obese as a BMI of 30 and above.

For all the claims of Prime being a bottom feeder company, they do have some standards. Obese people tend to have medical issues and are at high risk of Sleep Apnea.

 

How are things with Prime lately? I graduate in a month and am starting to to get applications together.

I have my TWIC card and will have Haz Mat and Doubles/triples.

 

Piles better than last year at the bottom of the recession.

 

well gee i passed my last physical with no problems, and just so you know what they did was illegal. it's called DISCRIMINATION. I can physically do the job, so they had no right to deny me employment. oh well, their loss. and by the way, i'll put my abilities up against anybody out there.

 

Yup, that's discrimination... they decided that at "x" BMI level (suggested by the medical review board at the FMCSA) that you're too out of shape to do the job. And there's nothing illegal about it if there is a medically valid reason for doing so. That's why blind people can't fly airplanes or drive CMVs...

 

Good Freakin' Luck! My CDL is from Colorado, so I'm already under CSA2010. No worries here, but then again, I've got a good record. Looks mostly like a scoring system applied to the Same Ol' Stuff to me.

But the BMI/Sleep Apnea deal isn't part of CSA2010... that's a separate deal being pushed by the FMCSA's medical review board, aka "We Wanna Make Lotsa BUCKS Offa Truckers Through Unneeded Medical Tests, Inc."
