Then im confused, why not just measure the height by hitting the top of the cube with your tape all the way to the ground?
Need help identifying height of trailer.

You don't need to climb out and look at the plate.
Under the container prefix and number, usually on each side and the rear is four additional digits that describe the container.
22G1 = 20 ft std general
25G1 = 20ft High Cube general
42G1 = 40 ft std general
45G1 = 40 ft High Cube general
49G1 = 40 ft std hanger box [garment rack]
4LG1 = 45 ft High Cube
The 'standard' makes the high cube on a gooseneck chassis around 13' 6".
Probelm arrises when the roadway has lanes restricted, we had (2) 25G1's on 20' chassis [not gooseneck] strike a bridge following the construction barriers under the NJ Turnpike in 6 months... -
You seem pretty sharp. Can you haul a highcube on a regular chassis? What about a regular can on a high cube chassis? I’ve always wondered. My container hauling experience is limited to OOG containers.

I did, after posting it, I searched the trailer dimensions. Then as I was thinking of measuring it but how was my next question but One driver who shall remain nameless but rhymes with glarengretchen called me from prison, not sure how he had a internet access, but sure enough he called me from prison to tell me to measure it.
and yes I did get charged for that call.
Ps you didn’t get my joke. Re read my quote

Standard gooseneck chassis works for standard and high cube.
40 and 45 ft boxes have a cutout that buries the 5th wheel plate in the floor and the front bolster has locks pointing to the rear.
20's don't have the gooseneck feature and the front bolster has locks pointing up, same as the rear.kylefitzy Thanks this. -
Don’t the high cubes usually have the white dot tape in the top corners and the standards don’t? Most we dealt with coming from overseas on tire shipments seemed that way. Most of those drivers told us that was generally the rule of thumb to spot height from far away before confirming the numbers on box.

usually but if there were repairs made they could be gone but the descriptive 45G1 VRS 42G1 will be there.SmallPackage Thanks this.
