Glad you are doing well with your trainer. All the best on your test. You will do ok. Just take it easy. You have been doing great. Hope you find a good team partner to finish your 6 month. Check your payroll online and if there's any question, find who prepares it, get their email and send them a msg with your questions. They always responded to me and I always had problems fixed.

Last year Covenant received the 2009 SmartWay Excellence Award and federal dollars for reducing fuel emissions. As their fleet turns over, they have been installing APUs in their new trucks. But their 2007 trucks and older have nothing at all to keep them warm. And Covenant bugs their solo drivers to keep idling to a minimum, and threads to charge those who surpass the "acceptable range". Don't let them intimidate you. Fight back. Their idle rules are inhumane, unaceptable, unsafe, and illegal IMO. Company must provide good working conditions for its employees.

I passed. I,m all done with training. I so glad i changed trainers. Thanks guys for all your help. I could not have done it with out ya ll.
Hey hey don't leave. I'm still going to need ya ll from time to time. I start looking for a team partner tomorrow.
Will the bad part is I'm not getting paid for it. Yesterday i went over the course for backing. Today road test, backing testing. logs class, smith system. With on pay. Tomorrow get a fleet manager. Then off to the team meeting. To find a team partner for the six mnths of teaming.
I don't know what happens next. It going to be awhile before im on the road again. I didn't thank a back this. So there might be some bills not getting paid at home. That kills me. To know that im dont going to be able to do it.
I'm hearing that it might take up to two weeks to get a truck. If your team partner wants to go home for that week. There is another week. What if the truck in TX, ID,CA or who knows. How long to get the truck.
After home time do we ride a bus back to chatt,TN. meet up. Then another bus to the truck. How long is that. I don't know yet but i soon as i know i'll let you know.
When I got off the truck I had 7350 miles. Which I get this friday.
If you have any question about the testing Ill see what i can do. Im pretty tired. Ill talk to you tomorrow

    RickG Thanks this.

BigWheels, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I knew you would pass :yes2557:

You will find out (as you are already), that there are MANY things you will do and receive no money for it. That's why I recommend every beginner to have some money saved (enough for a year).

Trainers get great miles. Don't expect to run the same with your partner.
If you are lucky, you and your partner will work very well together, will get a good dispatcher and will make good miles. Otherwise, send macro to dsp asking to go back to terminal to get another partner.

I guess you will ride a bus from home to terminal and vice versa (that's all company will reimburse). Keep the receipts. If you drive your vehicle, keep the gas receipts and give copy to team coordinator.

If you find someone at the terminal who already has a truck and can't wait to go back on the road, you may expedite the process. You will avoid going somewhere to get a truck (it might be an old truck and in bad condition... it would be a headache) :biggrin_25512:. Don't accept an old truck unless it is in the terminal and you and your partner can FULLY inspect it and have all problems fixed at the terminal. After all, you will only real test it on the road, once you leave the terminal.

Unless you team with a driver who already has a truck and know its condition.

When your partner goes home, if he/she lives far from you, you will have to seat in the truck (or wherever) and wait for him/her to come back. As you are not allowed to drive truck far from a few miles (find out how many miles you can drive on your own).

Be aware, if you team with someone who already has a truck they may want to behave as it is their truck and their rules. :biggrin_25510:
At team meeting, if you already have a partner, they will assign you a truck and tell you to go get it. If the truck is somewhere (not at Chatt) you and your partner will go get it in the shuttle van with so many other drivers like you. Everybody has a chance to drive the van. (I think co. pays for your driving time only).

Once, I dropped a partner because we would have to go to PA to get a truck (I didn't know it's condition). I preferred to stay at Chatt one more day and get a partner who already had a truck at Chatt and we could hit the road right away.

If the driver is there, you can go inside the truck and check everything, talk to them, and make a decision.

But you only really know after a few days on the road.

I think you can get layover pay if you are at Chatt waiting for a partner, find out with other experienced drivers (I forgot...)

If your first partner doesn't work out and you have to get another partner, whoever gets the next partner first, can keep the truck. :biggrin_25525:

    Good luck. :biggrin_25519:

Thanks!! both of you. for hanging in there with me.

Rocks as all ways you are full of good info. I'm just wish i was able to find the means back then to talk to you both little more.

Today I was in logs. With one my first trainer that has all ready messed up enough.

Strikes again. Remember when I told you how he was changing my logs and white out every where.

Yep!! They did not match with fuel stops and with QC location. So with then already knowing of the problems i had with the trainer.I sat there all afternoon C C my logs to the way they wanted them. Great! time.

Than off to safety. Pro treads.( Videos about driving, safety on the road and so on.) I thought I watched them all. But It seems I missed two. So about two hours later and waiting in the lobby of safety of 35 mns. I was done and they sign off on the pro treads.

. Now I'm up graded in the computer and able to receive my 1 cent pay raise. Which is now 14 cent a mile. whoopi!! Ive have learn they have took many bonces.Like the 80,000 mile one. They have cut every ones pay.

I dropped the paper work off at inbound to meet my fleet manager. But when straight to you want to go home. I said I really don't know at this time. My family wants me to. But all I'll do is worry about running out off money. We wouldn't be able to do any thing any way. I cool with staying out. For my family, Knowing they are being took care of.

I do like rocks point of view on a truck hear at chat,TN. And point out some of the problems that I'm sure will or would happen. Tomorrow I'm going to the team meeting to see what i can learn from there. I will talk to as many as i can and talk some more to see what up against. Like my truck ,my rules, my buck or I only drive days. To really see if they are reckless. I got to sleep some times. Just like rock said it be a day or two and they change on you. Driving 65, 70 mph on snow, smelling, just trashy. road rage. ect.

So we see what happens tomorrow. Thanks for replying. Take care and stay safe where ever you are.

Do they take Illinois taxes out? If they do you may need to file in Illinois.

Either way keep us updated. Get the weather for the times and locations you were idling.

Thanks for having the nads to go after the scum.
