Need insight please I have a 9400I Eagle 2003. I shut my truck off and tried to start it up again it wouldn't start it was making clicking sounds. I thought it was the battery so I charged the battery up, put it back on the truck and turned the ignition on nothing same clicking noise. After couple times of siphoning on and off on the fourth time it started. Anyone know what could cause this issue? I’ve replaced the firewall solenoid, battery’s 6 months ago, alternator one year ago, Starter 2 years ago.

@God prefers Diesels had some sort of starter problem.
Make sure all connections are clean and tight.

One truck I had it was the main battery ground to the frame. Rusty nut on stud holding the cables was corroded.

It was two wires disconnected that went into the back of the starter for the thermal overload protection. The clip was broken, so I just butt-connectored them together.

    Banker and 062 Thank this.

I would put a test light to the solenoid wire at the starter and have the test light where I can see it and try cranking. If the light is coming on that means the starter is getting solenoid signal to crank, then you need to check main battery connections at both positive and ground. If those are good, then it is the starter. If you have no light then you are hearing the firewall solenoid clicking only and need to trace that trigger wire between the firewall solenoid and starter solenoid or run a new wire.
