Can't say anything about the company north of the border but down here at one time they had a herrendous turn over in the drivers area. Also Sysco had been at the bottom of my list of places to deliver too....

Sysco \ Sigma is a multi billion dollar company. They have 2 distribution centers near here. The drivers are salary, and make about $37 an hour with benefits. They service mostly restaurant and institutional accounts. Part of the company is dedicated restaurant. ALL of their trailers are reefer.

I worked for them for 3 months I made $215 a trip and was home every night, took home on average with all the other benefits was $950 per week,GOOD MONEY,but now for the rest of the story.I hurt my shoulder on a dock i called the company told them what was going on and the only thing they wanted to know was can i finish the trip,i sayed no and it took them 3 hours to get someone to come and get the trailer and they sent me too one of there clinics, they sayed that nothing was wrong and sent me back to work the next day,was still having problems moving my arm i went to my own doc. that was over a year ago and 2 surgerys later and i am just getting the use of my arm back.and just for the #### of it 3 days before my first operation they decided to let me go and fired me. so to me they are just as bad if not worst than otr companys and you are the lumper for every load . sorry for being long winded:occasion9: :occasion9:

Well, you got me beat. I stuck it out for 2 1/2 months. The work isn't too bad once you get use to it. I left because I couldn't handle having to stay up all night driving and working. I also didn't like the directions they gave us drivers. Mapquest? Please... mapquest only gets updated once a year and basicly just sucks. I suguested they put gps in the trucks and was told it can't happen because of insurance reasons.

I was told I'd make good money there. I never saw it. When I called payroll about it I kept getting, "I'll look into it", but it never happened.

The other thing I didn't like was having to pay union dues for the first 4 months without actually being a member. Problem is all the dispatchers know about this and they take advantage of it to the fullest. Many times I saw new guys getting forced out without 10 off and just given crap routes constantly.

I have a feeling they'll have many drivers getting in accidents soon because guys drive tired. I realize that's not all the fault of the company, but they sure as heck don't do anything to discurage it. Telling guys to take naps, then giving them an "on time bonus" is just double talk for saying "if you bend the rules, you'll get more money".

No doubt, they are just as bad, if not worse than otr companies.
