You should’ve posted here first. We could’ve told you to stay away. Lol. The big Town Pump at the Lockwood exit is the best chance for parking and a shower around Billings.

I haven’t showered there, but their lot is nice, the building is usually pretty clean, and the food is decent for fast stuff. They have chicken, some Chinese, and pizza. It’s where I usually take my 30 when I’m coming out of Tacoma.

Well I picked up Monday in Mt Vernon, WA and got to Roanoke VA yesterday afternoon. Delivering this morning. I found some good stops on the way back. I tend to stop more when im not real heavy. I picked up a truck that was only about 20k lbs. I stopped at the Town Pump in Whitehall MT...I kept seeing signs for "tater kegs" all through Montana. I never tried one but, at least I did see one in the deli there.

Best stop was Al's Oasis in (I think) Chamberlain,SD. They had a grocery store and everything. I didnt eat at the restaurant but, the reviews say its pretty good. There is a paved lot with 15-20 spots there. There was only 3 trucks there the whole evening.

I meant to add that I did take US 212 SD34 back. I like 212. I dont think I would like it in the winter( I dont even like I-85 during any winter weather:D). It did have a few good pulls going west. That 1st town that you hit coming off 90 headed east, I felt sorry for the lady but, she was in a wheelchair in the middle of nowhere just rolling along the highway.

Going through some of those places I remembered the stories from(was it last year?) when they were advising to stay off US212 because people throwing rocks at trucks. I could see that happening and no signal to call anyone for help.

Since I was light coming back and could deliver anytime I wanted to actually go across US2 but, it was closed due to fires.

    Oxbow Thanks this.
