Driving team isnt for everyone, you have to share a truck 24 hour a day 7 days a week with someone you dont even know.Yes it same thing when your with a trainer but at lease this person have experience.Worse thing ever to do is them up with someone that also got done with training.Plus pay is not the same, you only get between 13 cent to 17 cents per mile,or they will say 3o cents per mile but they dont tell you it is split miles, which mean you are only making 15 cents a mile.Solo is your best bet, there are few good companies out there that offer good team driving but werner isnt one of them.:biggrin_25510:

Team driving is ok but the pay is low.I think solo is the best way to go.

this is partially correct, you do split miles and pay equally, yes, but the truck also runs more than a solo does, and you only have to work 12 hours on then get 12 off. if you can handle doing team, it CAN make you more money, whether or not it will, is a different story.

another way of thinking about it is, the truck gets 6000 miles a week, and you get paid 1/2 of what a solo would. a solo gets 3000 miles a week and gets paid twice what you do. both of you still get paid for 3000 miles.

When I was in school our instructor told us about a story when a team driving couple next to him were having problems and one shot the other. He may have been blowing smoke or messing with us but makes you think how it will be if you and your co driver do not get a long.

So say your working for 29 CPM do you both spit that CPM down the middle? That doesn't sound right.... No one would work for 16 CPM!

cypher, come on. Did you drive the truck all of the miles it went? You drove it 24 hours a day, every day? Why should you get paid for all the miles?
As long as both drivers are driving equally, its perfectly fair.

Also, lets see...im going to work for a company now thats going to make me drive teams for a month (im not in training but i have 1 month less experience than they require for solo...)...they're going to pay me 31 cpm as a team...split. They're going to pay me .27cpm as a solo....a pay cut i will GLADLY accept.

    think about it.

    .27cpm x 3000 = $810
    .31cpm x 3000 = $930 (considering a 6000 mile week, and you get paid half the miles)

you people make it sound like something completely different than it is.
