Hello and Welcome

I found this information, re: Sleep Apnea, for you by using the Search option, located on the tool bar above:

Welcome to the forum Seajay! I don't have OSA but I read a little about it just in case I get "plumped up" once I actually get out on the road. This article: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/TOPICS/mep/report/Sleep-MEP-Panel-Recommendations-508.pdf ......is very informative. It's also waaaaaaay boring!
P.S. Thanks for joining with us here on the forum. Let us know how everything works out.
Update: This might help too!

Sleep apnea is expected to be a key issue in the next set of health regulations from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. To learn more about how sleep apnea affects your health and how it could impact your CDL, register for Overdrives webinar at 8 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, Feb. 11.
The free, one-hour webinar will feature Dr. Mark Berger, president and chief medical officer of Precision Pulmonary Diagnostics. Berger has worked as consultant to large trucking fleets to help them develop sleep apnea programs. He has overseen the screening of nearly 15,000 commercial drivers and the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea in nearly 2,000 CDL holders.
The webinar is sponsored by Schneider National and produced by Truckers News and Overdrive. Visit www.TruckerWebinars.com to register.

Baack and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Interesting....I'll have to read up on this. I was recently diagnosed with OSA, and I'm now on a CPAP.
kickin chicken Thanks this. -
you have to use cpap a minimum of 4 hrs every day to stay compliant for dot. the cpap machine has a memory card that keeps track of the date and how many hours you slept with it on. By the way you cant trick these new machines, they read back pressure or your exhale. when its time for dot phisical you remove memory card and the sleep dr will read it and provide a print out for your medical dr. As long as you stay above 90% compliance you will be ok. for medical cards they go as follows 30 days then 90 days then one year.
jtrnr1951, kickin chicken and Baack Thank this.
