If your considering going ltl you may want to add FedEx Freight and Old Dominion. Both are top ltl carriers and can make some serious money. I work for freight and our top linehaul run is 664 miles and pays $143,000.

Of the 3 you posted, I'd go with Yellow. Can retire young and in comfort.

I’d love to work for FedEx, but I haven’t heard back from them.

This year has been funny 8 weeks ago we were completely swamped. They were trying to add on another driver. And now the bottom few guys dont run consistently. If it was me Id wait a few months till spring then apply. Ltl slows down in the winter and can get rough on the bottom of the board.

If you have a couple of months till your 1 year that may have something to do with it also. You need 1 year experience to come in as a driver or else they would put you threw the Apprentice program.

March or April would be a good time to apply. Thats when ltl picks up then its running hard till about November.

It all depends on the center and how many bid runs they have. But my center it takes about 6 to 7 years. But even then ive been driving here for 4 years and the 2 people right above me in seniority do 125-130,000. By taking Saturday runs.

Our shortest PM run is 356 miles 3 hours of dock work and pays $115,000. Throw in some Saturday runs 125 is doable.
