What turned out to be the cause of the low oil pressure?

 

My centrifuge filter broke.

 

What's going on with your truck?

 

The fan assembly broke causing massive oil leak. We drove to shop for repair. Long story short after repair was complete the truck is not holding oil pressure.

After discussion Mechanic changed the main bearings and the rod bearings. The truck generates oil pressure when started 70 psi. He was able to drive 14 miles. When he came to a stop the oil pressure dropped to 10, the oil pressure light came on and the truck cut itself off.

I read your post and saw you had the same issue and changed the pump, cooler, main and rods. Just wanted to know what the result was and what did you learn about it

 

What is a centrifuge filter?

 

That's the filter that is in the front passenger side of the motor.
Opposite side of the fuel filter and fuel water separator.
It's closer to the passenger headlight assembly.
When you get an oil change somewhere %95 of the time they will not change this filter.

 

Did you end up doing the retro fit?
I highly recommend it.

 

No I installed the original fan drive assembly. I would like to know more about your experience with the low oil pressure.

How did you discover the filter was the problem ?
Did you have metal shavings in your oil?
How was the truck responding after the repair?
