I'm trying to find the book time on a 2014 T680 rear engine supports. Does anyone know how long it takes to replace each side?

I just had mine done when the transmission was out. Just to give you a heads up, there about $400.00 a piece. I can’t tell you on the labor, it was added to the clutch and all the other stuff I had done when everything was off.

Yeah they where like 499 with my discount. I just had my transmission down 8,000 miles ago and told them to replace it while it's down. They did everything else BUT them and now one side is busted.... I'm not happy about this ordeal as the shop is saying they can't get the bolts out and what not. So they are gonna put it together and I'll take it to a dealer.

The bolts go through a metal sleeve that’s inside the rubber. If the current shop can’t get them out odds are they are corroded inside the sleeve. Very common deal if that’s the case book time isn’t going to help you it’s a time and material job. The bad thing is you can’t get the bolts that hold the support to the rear structure out with the mount in place to work it’s ### over on the table. Depending on if it’s right or left side (I’m betting left) that isn’t the place for a gas axe either. Sucks but is what it is. Could take from a half day to 3 days depending

The interesting thing the bolt it sheered inside the mount. I haven't seen what they where talking about in person but they said the part is wrong and what not. They also said something about Jacking up the cab of truck which I wouldn't see why as it's not bolted to the cab at all. It's bolted in the frame rail to the engine. Nothing looked to be in bad shape no rust at all in the area and the sheered bolt didn't look corroded at all

Often times you won’t see that it’s rusted in, just when trying to remove it the bolt will be spinning the whole sleeve it sits in.

That being said a real shop should be able to remove that bolt, whatever it takes. You got to part swappers, which don’t know what to do when part is not comming off easily. The sad part is that the dealer is usually a headquarters for part swapper mechanics, so you may not get better luck in there.

At this point I wish I started with the dealer. Would of prob saved me a lot of headache. I paid $5700 for rear structure rear main clutch and input shaft. Then when I got it back it had massive air leaks on top of transmission that I had to fix. They broke 3 bolts holding down that plate inside the cab. Now I'm back getting engine mounts after 8k miles...

Mount on T680 would be trelleborg style. img_3883~2.jpg
Different animal than old style. If huck bolted in more PITA. Often share fasteners with spring hangers so can add more time.

Screenshot_20220921-134313_Linxup.jpg Well it's still in the shop.. They brought it in Sunday and found out parts gave me wrong parts. So they came in Tuesday. They had one side done now but it's been in the bay for 3 days now... At $200 an hour I can only imagine what this is going to cost....

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.
