I currently have a carrier comfort Pro that has its own radiator system on it. I want to plumb it into the truck coolant so that during the winter the APU will help keep the engine warm for cold day start up. I’m thinking, in theory, I only need to cut into one of the heater lines going to the bunk basically running the coolant from the radiator towards the bank diverting it to the APU, and then back up to where I cut in to the Same line headed towards the heater coil. Basically what I’m asking is, I should only have to cut into one of the heater lines going to the bunk, correct?

Mine (09 Cascadia) was plumbed that way, but it was plumbed in parallel, not in series. I think it's best not to have the restriction of having to push APU coolant through the bunk heater core. Make sure you add shut off valves on both the feed and return sides. I used to get leaks when I first bought the truck. Connections had to be really really tight there.

If you're truck is an older Cascadia you will have the annoyance of having to deal with two different size lines to the bunk heater core. One was 3/4 and one was 3/8. But you'll want 3/4 on both sides going to the APU. This is what I used for that: Four Seasons 84757 Plastic T-Type Hose Splicer. Be careful, they break.

If your truck has an electric motor heater you should also be able to plug it in

A friend of mine did that. Just ran an extension cord to the external plug in

I bought the truck second hand and when I got to checking there is no block heater on this truck. This is why I want a plumber APU into it. I tend to run up into Montana and stuff quite a bit in the winter, so that little extra will help at start up. I know I can add a block heater, but figured might as well just plummet APU into it and be done with it.

My tripac is plumbed into the radiator. As was mentioned shut off / isolation valves for supply and return.

It has a Wabesto though. It definitely saves the day in freezing conditions.
