I pulled into a mill in Albertville , AL one night and parked on the side with 3 trucks ahead of me . One of the mill workers figured I'd be asleep and he could slip his cousin who was 2 trucks behind me in ahead of me . I pulled in when I saw the truck ahead of me pull out . Another worker told me to start unloading . Then the worker with the cousin came running yelling to shut it down . When the other truck pulled out he switched the pit to unload the corn his cousin was hauling but I was hauling pork meal as was the truck that just pulled out . Oh well .

The most organized place I have been to was a plant in Henderson, KY. They only unload between 6:30am to 2:30pm. I showed up that evening and their were four trucks parked at the gate and I pulled in behind them and the gaurd came out and said he would open the gate and to circle around the big drive and park between the cones. Come to find out they only allow four trucks at the gate. He said put the CB on ch.11 and they would make a wake up call at 6am. When I got up the next morning their were five trucks behind me and six more lined up to my right. At 6:30am their were two guards to direct everyone and they had a log of who was next in line. When you pulled on the scales you talked thru a speaker giving your info and then pulled around back to dump. A lady came to your truck and got your paperwork to take to the office, you dumped and back to the scales then you circled around to the office and got your paperwork and left. I thought they were pretty organized and with all the trucks it went pretty fast. Also they gave you a comment card for recomendations.

Well, I stumbled on this thread during a marathon wait at Horizon in Wichita, and even saw my company name mentioned (no, I'm not with Robles!!!) and figured it's time to join in on the fun. Big John, you know me as "Bill." (BTW, I know wild turkey from Medicine Lodge pretty well...and have got a couple of good stories about him!)
Anyway, I LOVE the ideas for the ticket number display, and the Lysol bomb!! I'd use it at the port o potty at Cereal Foods too! It's nice to see that the "finer side" of trucking doesn't only happen to me, but pretty much all of us.
Looking forward to having some good times in here, and getting to know you all. -
Hey Bill welcome aboard. Yeah I have known Wild Turkey since the early 90's when he worked at Arensdorf and I drove for Magill.

Yeah Dale is a pretty good guy. I don't see him near as much as I used to, but it was always fun to get him "all fired up." How are things working out at Oakley?
-
Every time I see Dale I get him fired over something. lol.
Oakley is okay but I am staying out two weeks to make it work. The wife isn't liking it because I am gone. I have 2,100 miles for the week, so that sucks.highside Thanks this. -
Yeah that can be tough...at least it's not permanent. I'm still waiting for the big turn around, but that may be a ways off yet.
I was down in your area this week, bringing some wheat up from Banner on my way back from Ft. Worth. Melting snow in that part of the country makes for one dirty truck at the end of the day! -
welcome to the hopper&dump thread, highside, glad to have ya
