That's a good article. Yellow is ahead of many other companies in terms of paid apprenticeship opportunities in my opinion. I know some Regional/OTR like Roehl and Millis Transfer now pay students during CDL school but not too many do so. I'm looking forward to starting training. The only thing I'm waiting on is to do the TSA fingerprinting. I've signed all the Onboarding paperwork and am good to go otherwise.

You've made a wise decision for your family and their future.

One of my friends who just obtained his CDL A through the Yellow Linehaul Academy about two weeks ago is working on the dock. Apparently, the TSA background checks needed before the HAZMAT can be added to the license haven't come through yet. So, there is a possibility after I get my CDL I might be on the dock for a bit if that background check takes a bit. That is okay, I'm not opposed to that kind of work at least in the short term.

I’ve been in the medical field for about 15 years. I’m ready for a change. You should also be aware that not all trucking positions involve being away for extended periods of time. Thanks for your input though.

I told my daughter to not be a nurse. Now she wishes she had taken my advice.
I recommended she become a Merchant Marine Officer.

    This isn't her, of course:

Nursing is a great career but many nurses have been totally burned out of patient care especially during the pandemic. It isn’t the same field as it was before 2020.

Passed the Tanker this morning at the BMV. The only thing left is Hazmat but can’t do that until I complete a course at Yellow’s academy or pay money to take a course. Getting closer!
