Thanks guys.
We would be hauling a dry van for them. They have a few of their own customers and also work with a few brokers. They are offering us 80% of the line haul. The $3 per $100 for the cargo insurance is the only deduction -- which is good -- but then they aren't offering us any extras either.
I kinda feel like 80% is a little low for a company that isn't offering any of the extra pay some of the bigger companies offer. On the other hand we don't have to pay for a Qualcomm or maintain an escrow account with them or pay some outrageous price for load locks, etc.
I guess 80% with these guys who are still getting pretty decent freight is better than 73% with LandStar and not being able to find any freight. I just wish we were ready to get our own authority right now, but every time I suggest it Stace's eyes kinda roll up in her head and she starts going into convulsions.Gonna have to wait a while on that.

Now I know this is a might varied question, and the varied being all the variables. But trying to get an answer out of an insurance agent is like pullin teeth on a mountain lion. Now just bare bones bobtail insurance, state minimum, get it from purchase to my driveway, till I finalize my gameplan etc. Variables, I have a clean driving abstract, decent credit, the rig will be about a 2006 or so Pete or Freightshaker depending on how much my bank will see fit come dealing time. How much is bobtail ins? I am talking to my old trainer and he is leased on and paying $37 a month. Thats off for me by a few hundred bucks I am sure. I would appreciate any help at all thanx.

I am going to take an uneducated guess but you should budget for about 175 to 275 a month depending on your coverage with a 1,000 dollar deductable.

bobtail ins. should never ever and I repeat never be over $50.00 per month. It's the same on any rig. Makes no difference how old, what kind, value, etc.

what company offers it for 50 bucks. or are you saying 50 plus your comp and collision coverage for the truck?

Bobtail could be Non Trucking Liability or Unladen Liability . My agent advised me to go with unladen saying with NTL there could be a dispute whether you were on dispatch or not at the time of an accident .

YES. $50 for bobtail , then you have your comp., etc
