What about sailboats?I've only had two run-ins with CA DOT.Once I was pulled over for a burnt out headlight.I showed the CHP officer that I had an extra in the side box and he told me were a safe place was to fix it.That was it.The other time I got a crack in me windshield just before going into CA.I got a fix it ticket at one of the scales. It was fixed and that was it.I've even been told over a CHP's loud speaker to slow down and stop speeding(I was going 5-7mph over). In Sac I was told over a loud speaker to get out of the car only lane and to drive in the right lane.Everybody says they have a problem with CA but I never did.I actual enjoyed driving in CA and look forward to it when I get back to the sates.
My brother and his family live near Fresno. They moved there from Texas.I don't about all the other people you mentioned but I do know that CA makes a family of five on one income maker their minivan meet CA smog rules at a coast of over $400.

Are not sailboats "Other Watercraft"????
JustSonny Thanks this. -
Sorry, thought you were talking from an emissions point of view like I was.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
I grew up around boats.....
I hated the friggin' sailboat owners because they would always tack right in front of us in the channels.......Remember...Sailboats "always have the right-of-way".....
If there was a bounty on moronic PWC operators...I could retire early.....

Actually, I am looking forward to this increased examination of the driver. After almost 20 years of driving a semi, I may finally be forced to find another line of work.
One minor accident (in my 2nd year), but I am "old school" which means I drive when I feel like it, and sleep when I am tired. That, of course, is totally unsafe according to the suits in the insurance companies and Washington.
What a crock of ####. But, like I said, bring it on. I will be happy to be on the public dole while the rest of you have to deal with one less experienced driver, and deal with one more (because the freight will still have to move) inexperienced driver.
Especially when the snow and ice start to hit, LOL!
Yup, the government is our friend. -
If some of y'all would quit tailgating and driving like a #### idiot you wouldn't have to worry. There is a tool called defensive driving that helps keep you out of trouble. So don't be blaming the 4 wheeler if your at fault. I hate to sound harsh but some of y'all remind me of Obama and blaming Bush. I'm sorry it has to be said but some of y'all need to take a hard look in the mirror and you'll see some of y'all are to blame and brought this on yourselves. But I know what is gonna be said, I'm a 19 year old wannabe and what do I know blah blah blah. I'm use to it by now. I grew up and worked around trucking so I know what it's all about and as an outsider looking in I see a lot of driver's moaning and griping when there is a new regulation because of their screw up.

You must be preaching to all of the "Swifty's".....
You don't get to become an old driver by acting "The Fool".... -
It's not just Swifty's. I had a fuel tanker run up on me and cut off another car. It is my former's employer's competition. I guess the driver was in a hurry and it went down to one lane. He could have slowed down and he #### near took out the car in front of me.
Some owner operators need a dose of reality to with their billy big rigging style of driving.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
So you mean to tell me nothing breaks going down the road after a pre trip i've checked my truck plenty of times were everything was working and stop 2hrs later and have a light out or an air can leaking you cant control all problems i dont care how good you pre trip and theres alot of thing on a truck that i know alot of drivers would'nt have a clue if it was bad or not.

I don't see where this letter of caution is even directed at drivers. I see that some companies out there need this type of warning and if some drivers get the boot then maybe they're in the wrong line of work anyway. I think the drivers that are up in arms need to relax and do their job. If you do then how can you get canned unless your dumb enough to work for a dangerous company in the first place. I say someone needs to correct the unsafe companies.
