I work for Fedex Freight and ive been here 4 years. I went threw the driver apprentice program that fedex has.
If you have a CDL and want to work for Freight you have 2 choices. 1 go and get a year of experience and then apply to FedEx. Option 2 is to go threw the Apprentice Program.

I'm a driver for marten and I'll be happy to answer any questions.
MartinFromBC, Hawkeye72 and Chinatown Thank this. -
I chose Yellow. A large terminal will get you some runs even in winter as the bottom guy (per the terminal manager).

YRC or the other LTL companies that do CDL training is a no Brainerd compared to the typical OTR companies that offer training.
Hawkeye72 and Eric4Yeshua1337 Thank this. -

Are you familiar with the regional western run and what the average miles and if you can actually get more than the guarantee weekly pay or is it true pretty much capped on the guaranteed and is it include those bounces and the extra good stuff
Thank you sir -
Kinda crazy that Yellow is being put alongside JB and Marten. I don't know if that's just OP not knowing, or a sign that Yellow has fallen.
And Yellow is currently offering 25% pension. If he's truly "vested" in the pension at 5 years, he'll only have 1.25 years.
Yellow is still a career. But it's... I dunno. Career "lite." They pay the office workers and corporate people very well at Yellow. The drivers don't get nearly enough, and it sucks.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
the three companies you mentioned might not be in business much longer after paying the bill for all the doors i blow off their trucks on a daily basis
