Yep
every trailer company has Stevie wonder install the wiring .
We have bought brand new trailers and had to replace the wiring and or connectors
it’s usually the connectors , I prefer wire nuts wrapped with electric tape to the poor quality crimp connectors the trailer manufacturers always use .
If you wanna go high quality , get the wire nuts with the epoxy goo inside .
and if you can find a replacement backing plate that’s loaded with everything , just get it and bolt it on and be done .
10k axle electric brake not working on one side, any thoughts

Usually when I wire up something I use sealed junction boxes and weatherproof connectors. Rubber grommets at pass-through locations in the frame and stuff like that.
We have salt and crap like that to deal with up here. That chicken #### wiring with Scotchlock connecters won't even survive the first month of winter out here.Rockwind1 Thanks this. -

Heat shrink tubing is awesome.

If I have the time (and the customer has the budget) I prefer to splice, solder and heatshrink all my wiring. If not, I use un-insulated crimp connectors and heat shrink over them. I find the heat shrink butt connectors don't crimp well, are bulky and the heat shrink usually gets damaged during the crimp and often splits when you shrink it.
