While nice, a jack and a hammer does the trick and i already have that vs 250$. Might get around to it, might not

True but I'm always worried I'll bend a driveshaft ear that way. One swing just a little off mark and it gets expensive.

My problem is I started with ryobi years ago
I even bought a few of their tools they didn’t sell in the states , like the 1/2 impact by ordering them from Japan eBay .
I have four or five drills , several drivers , several sawzall , three circular saws, blower, vacuum , weed eater , etc etc
Scattered out over two houses and one mobile service truck . I work on air compressors and vacuum pumps and plumbing and electrical With the service truck, I don’t need the impact , it’s Mostly ratchet wrenches and sockets

Ouch, red or blue for me,

blue because was marginally cheaper and brother had spares when i started my buildup. had way too many yellow tools never match up to blue

Nah, the worry that the ear will bend is misplaced, its cast steel, youll crack it before bending :p point taken but nearish 12k (drive axle weight with no trailer) of downward force seems to do the trick for me so far with no issues.

I'm half Irish, my friend. If it wasn't for bad luck if have none at all! If there was a way for me to bend, or crack one of those ears I'll find it.

Can any of you recommend a jack in case of a blowout? Also, I realize that those torque wrenches/breaker bars at the TAs and other shops run almost 10 grand. What would be a cheap alternative? Will those cheap breaker bars at Harbor Freight do the trick at least until the wheels can be properly torqued at a shop?

My MAC 3/4" drive torque wrench was about a grand Canadian. Breaker bar might run you $500.

Harbor freight sells an 20 ton air/hydraulic bottle jack, have owned one since December '20, have used it a several times, no issues.

As for the breaker bar, I can't tell you anything about it since I use a 1" drive impact wrench (bought from harbor freight, too), but HF does sell a 3/4" torque wrench for about $100-$200 (they have two different models, Pittsburg and Icon), up to 300lbs torque though. Apparently they also sell 3/4" drive socket set that includes 1-5/16", but weirdly, not a 33mm socket, though I rarely ever see these sets on the shelves at any store I've been to.

Harbor Freight 20T bottle jack and a Sunex 3/4 torque stick. I'd get a M18 3/4 impact instead of a breaker bar though. Don't forget a long bar to help maneuver the tire on and off the axle too.
