Submitting Applications- Dos and Don'ts

My 0.02: I don't know the PTL pay scale for 2022, but if it's like it was about 3+ years ago you're probably not going to experience better non-driver staff at a big carrier....

I've been to three other big carriers and the office staff were a nightmare in comparison. PTL sends you a load and let's you run it, and the equipment and shop staff were a diamond in the ruff too..

It's like 80% DC stuff too, so an easy way to get experience; Avoid the South East because of traffic and parking

Best one I saw yet was where there was a 6 year gap, and it was explained as ' Pimp'n my hoes '. I love a good sense of humor, and hired her on the spot.

I've used "Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound while performing the essential job duties" under other skills and abilities before and got that job.
My favorite ex boss hired me as i explained my employment gap as my rotation into Domestic Engineering.

I would rather work for a boss like you any day and sometimes these screenings and interviews cut both ways. I like to think i have a great sense of humor even if my kids don't.

I appreciate the advice Chinatown and Martin. Sometimes those unanswered prayers right? After COMPLETE honesty as always, Millis picked me up and if their dispatchers, mechanics and other staff are as professional and courteous as their recruiter Jade, I will enjoy enriching both of our bottom lines!

I hope you've gotten something by now, but I would say you may have to start somewhere you did not intend to just to get more driving experience down.
