Lord, if ever you catch me pulling a box, smite me.
dirthaller, MartinFromBC, RefMata and 3 others Thank this. -
First night of 2 am appointment, then waiting till afternoon to be unloaded, dealing to lumpers and then waiting forever for a washout you'll miss that flatbed real quick.
Old Man, dirthaller, ProfessionalNoticer and 9 others Thank this. -
Siinman, 77fib77, dirthaller and 5 others Thank this.

Kyle G. and MartinFromBC Thank this.

I miss hauling flatbed. You pretty much have a set schedule. Almost every shipper receiver is 8-5. With reefer they just destroy your sleeping time. Finding washouts is also a pain and not to mention lumpers over a couple grand. Flatbed also has a chance to stack partial loads.
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
If I had to haul food, the only thing that I would haul is frozen fries and meat patties to McDonald's.
The rest of them can piss off.
During the road wash outs last year I hauled some frozen goods to a few McDonald's restaurants, that is actually a pretty good gig, their trailers, no waiting, only hauled frozen foods. If a guy is looking to drag a fning reefer around, that is the best way to do it.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this. -
Receivers tend to be more 5am to 5 pm, but half the places im delivering are just as happy at midnight.
Shipping, 2nd or 3rd shift is generally faster than 1st, plenty of 24 hrs placesSiinman Thanks this.
