    Ummmmmm......errrrrrr......ahhhhhhhh......

well....if "everything is good".....then WHY are you on probation? :dontknow:

Are you currently looking for work--or already employed?

IN what part of TX are you located?

Do you already have a CDL?

What endorsements (if any) do you have?

In what kind(s) of trucking work are most interested? Flatbed? Dry van? Something else?

Regional? OTR? Dedicated? Home daily? Home weekly?

    ?????????????...........

You really need to talk to your probation officer. They tend to not like people they are overseeing being in town one day and 2,000 miles away at the end of the week.

That said, depends on what the charge was for and how long ago the conviction was if companies will hire you.

I'm pretty sure that you would need to take a local job. AFAIK you will not be allowed to leave the state, but you may not even be allowed to go that far. Talk to your PO to be sure.

Are you on supervised or unsupervised probation? The reason I ask is because if you're on supervised, you won't be able to. You'll have those meetings and such. Unsupervised, all you'll have to do is stay out of trouble. Then you can truck away.

Depends on what you did and how long you have been on probation! I know a guy that is on Federal Probation who is doing a dedicated run across several states. This is one of those situations where the probation officer and the carrier have to be in sync. Let me put it this way. Unless the court has made it a condition of probation you can't travel there is nothing that prohibits a probation officer from allowing someone to be an OTR trucker. It's rare but does happen. The thing though is the PO HAS to be able to contact you 24/7 and have some idea where you are. This is why they have to be in sync with the carrier.

I have had a couple guys on probation drive for me. Once you reach a certain point with it you only report maybe every 3 months, they give you a paper so you can travel across state lines as not being able to is part of the probation conditions usually.

As far as why the OP is on probation is between him, the state and whom ever is future employer may be. He is paying his debt, trying to get gainfull employment and improve his situation. Being judge mental and looking down your nose really does any one any good.

Yeah, you can be hired. The state will even pay for cdl school through the Texas WIOA program.
Lots of drivers are on parole or probation and driving trucks.
