If all things were equal in a dyno, I’d go with the 16 for the bottom end strength alone. You’re building a tri drive.

I went over my 11 hour by about 20 minutes today.

I hope I don't get a call from the safety department.

Well, ya know, I’d much rather see anyone go 11 minutes or 20 minutes over on their drive time, than see them doing 68 in a 55 construction zone worried about that dumba ss clock!

    I've wondered that for a long time. The regular dd15 is 1750 while the gen5 is 1850. Regular 13 being 505/1850 and gen5 525/1850

Someone said the reasoning was the dd15 had a much flatter TQ curve and could run a lower rpm. Just what I heard. The dd15s at the food service company I was with were a pathetic excuse of an engine. Progressive shift enabled and all that bs. The safety guy said they were detuned to 350-375hp and it sure felt like it. 2.47 rears didn't help either. Eventually the newer ones they started ordering 2.64s which actually got better fuel economy. A few slipped between the cracks with no progressive shift and what a difference to drive. Most were limited to 1650 and it's nothing but hills here. And most of the time we were at 80k

Now an o/o spec 505 with no bs programming would be a great deal better. They ran those at the oilfield company my dad was at and he said they pulled good

Anybody got a phone # for @singlescrewshaker, maybe could give him a call. So far my family made out ok with lots of wind and rain, but they're a bit north of where the eye hit.
