Well shoot boy's, thank y'all!!
Cell service was real spotty yesterday, but seems all up today..
Your prayers mixed with the old folklore of the Tacobagans' tribe saved us once again.! They say all the Indian burial mounds around here are blessed to warn off intruders, some say hurricanes are included in this.? Either way Tampa bay hasn't taken a direct hit since 1929, and I believe 1960 Donna hit Bradenton/Palmetto..
Either way we faired extremely well. Just 2 8' sections of fence down, few small tree limbs, & debris scattering the yard. We have power, no TV or internet. Actually sort of nice..
The folks of Fort Myers really need the help. Seen lots of carnage pictures already down there. Gonna check the fema loadboard, see if there is anything I can do.
Rolled my ankle pretty good prepping for the storm, but there is work that needs done..

Good god man that's like a tennis ball you got there
-
Not sure which is more frightening. The tennis ball anke or a Gator in the driveway.
Or trying to get away from a Gator in driveway with that ankle! -
We were running short on doggy tie out anchors & 2in straps, so we just went with the saran wrap this time.! Lol.

cke, Flint1, Elroythekid and 14 others Thank this. -
The nurse side of my wife says you are to elevate and ice that ankle, and go get it checked asap cause you've at least got tissue damage.cke, Flint1, Swine hauler and 12 others Thank this.

Dang!!! That makes me hurt just looking at it. Glad you’re ok my friend.
My father in law has a winter place in Ft. Myers. He’s going down next week to look at the damage…..cke, Flint1, Brettj3876 and 10 others Thank this. -
That ankle looks bad. You maybe broke something good. You need to get an X-ray on that. There are lots of blood vessels in that area that could get damaged. It could lead to amputation of your foot.cke, Flint1, MartinFromBC and 11 others Thank this.

Thanks partner!
We did good here, only ended up getting about 70mph gust. Further south they didn't get quite as lucky..
She's ugly alright.. lol
Lol
Yup, glad that wasn't my driveway!
Yeah, I've got to admit I've felt better.. lol
Weird enough I was so consumed by wanting to board windows, stack sandbags, put away patio furniture, I'm not actually sure when it happened.? It was pointed out to me when I was up on the ladder drilling holes for tap cons..
I have been icing & elevating all day yesterday. Swelling down some, but may need a real set of eyes on it.. lol
I hope he faired ok? Depending how close to the gulf, some of them took a massive storm surge. Seen some pics 8' of water in the living rooms!!
I've got an uncle with a condo down there also. If the ankle feels better I'd like to ride down there with him to see what's what..cke, Flint1, Swine hauler and 11 others Thank this. -
glad you are both ok and tough….
If that was my ankle - I would be looking to have that cut off….cke, Flint1, Swine hauler and 11 others Thank this. -
Absolutely.
Plus there was no way I was gonna shut down for 10 hours when I could get home. That's one thing about paper logs which was so much better. Room to hide little situations like that.
Speaking of the 68 in a 55... Saw a near wreck between two trucks at the end of a passing lane, you could probably guess why. What was funny is the guy that caused the boondoggle is the one that went ballistic on the CB..
cke, Flint1, MartinFromBC and 7 others Thank this.
