Most folks up your way savy snow, down here many don’t and need to be guided. Unfortunately the ones in charge of guidance have less common sense than the public.
Siinman, Oxbow and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
You aren't going to be driving fast with anything on ur tires. Cables are rated at 25mphGod prefers Diesels and Oxbow Thank this.

Absolutely ! I took cables up north of whitefish MT to a jobsite we were working with 12% grade to get up there, then took them off-road and they held up just fine... they don't have nearly the grip regular chains do. But if all ur doing is interstate driving they work just fineJolliRoger, larry2903, gekko1323 and 2 others Thank this.

I just thought of something though...Colorado requires chains. So I have to get them either way, no?MartinFromBC Thanks this.

You are required to carry some type of traction device, chains, cables or auto socks.MartinFromBC, God prefers Diesels, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this.

All our loads were out and back on 84 or 90, originating in the NW. If customer was willing to pay a premium, we would do whatever it took to get through, i.e., throw iron, reroute around storm (or restrictions), etc. Otherwise it was our discretion, which usually meant waiting it out. Those loads left with just a couple bags of Autosocks, to satisfy any inspection. I found cables worked fine, but didn't last long on patchy coverage.
God prefers Diesels, D.Tibbitt, lual and 3 others Thank this. -
My tire socks make great edge protectors !MartinFromBC, Siinman, God prefers Diesels and 1 other person Thank this.

Do you know what ones you purchased? I have been debating on getting some for this year as I only use socks at this point. Never do the mountains but might do some this year.God prefers Diesels, MartinFromBC, InTooDeep and 2 others Thank this.
