Usually most of the asset forfeiture horror stories come out of Ohio, with Texas a close second.
If you value your money, property or both, avoid both states if you can!

So if you are pulled over for any reason....
Jaywalking, failure to initiate turn signal etc. And happen to be legally carrying a firearm.
You would be carrying a firearm while committing a crime, have your vehicle seized...
    Harris County TX enough said.

In this case suspect wasn’t legally carrying (hence the weapons charges) and was street racing (which led up to the felony evading charges). Read the link I posted on Texas’ state asset forfeiture laws.

Stuff like this goes down all the time. At least this time they are putting good use to a seized object but too many loopholes in the current laws which allow unlawful seizes. Screenshot_20221005_223224.jpg Screenshot_20221005_223404.jpg

Don’t like it then contact your state representative to get the laws changed.

City of Houston and Harris co. have some of the strictest street racing laws. He knows this. Thats why he ran. That is why his car got seized. San Antonio and Bexar co. have recently passed similar laws due to deaths and we have stupid so called car clubs that take over big parking lots after hours and do drifting and donuts and shoot 9mm rounds in the air while flying Mexican flags like a siege on the Alamo. Lol! It always ends up out on the streets.

funny and not so funny at the same time.
You tube videos to prove it.

It says misdemeanor weapon charges in article. If he wasn't allowed to be carrying, or a prohibited person. it would be felony weapon charges.
