Air leaf to low air leaf conversion.

    Hi guys. 1995 Peterbilt rides a few inches to high for my horse trailer I pull with it. It is a single rear axle and has air leaf suspension. Would like to convert to low air leaf. Any one know what all has to be changed out? Thanks in advance!

    Might need a cutoff to swap all the parts in order to be cost effective.. being a 1995 it may have 24.5 tires a swap to 22.5 will drop you 1.5 to 2 inches in most cases but raise cruising rpm by about 50 to 60 rpm. Also you may be able to set air leveling valve a bit lower if driveline angles permit it .. have you looked into a low profile fifth wheel?

    Seems like it would be easier to fix the hitch on the trailer than swapping the suspension.

    Air leaf to low air are 2 completely different suspension types and you would need a cutoff to make it cost effective.

    Can you lower the fifth wheel or change the tire size? Much cheaper….
