I do however have experience with being lied to. In fact, Im not sure I can name a single company that hasnt lied to me in 1 way or another. Want examples?
Let me start with a company I worked for 23 days back in 1999 - JB Hunt. Was told trucks were governed at 68 (they were at 62), I would get 1 day off for every 5 I was out and I would never be out more than 10 days (I was out 23 days and the only reason I got home then is I said screw it and drove home).
Was told if I ever had to get home for something to let my driver manager know a couple of days in advance, I let my DM know a week in advance that I had to be home for an 8am dentist appt on monday. He says ok, I will put it in the computer to get you home monday. No I says, put it in the computer that I have to be home SUNDAY, my appt is at 8am. Ok.
Friday, I am in Little Rock with a load of rum I had brought in from Canada. They got me going to Virginia Beach from there. No I says, I have to be home monday, its in the computer. Ok, send me up to Quincy to pick up something to Iowa City, and then a pick up at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids going to Mpls. I get in CR and check in, was about 8 in the evening sunday. Your load will be ready at 12 Im told. Ok, so I hop in the bunk, get up a little before midnight and go up to their office. Its closed. So I check in with someone on the dock. Yeah, that load will be ready at 12 alright, 12 NOON. I drove home, parked the truck in the drop lot they have in the twin cites and left the key in the ash tray.
Told me I would get at least 2500 miles a week. Best week was 1500. Worst was 1200.
Want more examples. Like when I interviewed at USF Holland and was told about the pay, vacation, and retirement - which all 3 were flat out lies. And the BEST part? The union steward was sitting right there and didnt say a word...

The reviews on Riverside don’t sound too great either. Good luck going to work for another 48 state mega and staying out of the north this winter.

Riverside ? Those morons can't even read an mvr !
In 2000 I got a dui ...in 2011 I applied at riverside, they tried to tell me I got 3 Dui's in 2000 because they couldn't tell the difference between the arrest date , the conviction date and the suspension date .
I hung up on them .Siinman, Knucklehead, austinmike and 6 others Thank this. -
I laugh when I watch "Ice Road Truckers" because those guys would crap their pants in Wis/Min/Iowa in the winter...
Not too sure someone from southern Texas would enjoy that.Another Canadian driver, JoeyJunk, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -

If a person got lucky, they could get on a dedicated run to Alaska, and get away from the lower 48.
