Don't see why not unless they have too many drivers in that area. On Sunday I spoke to a driver at a dairy farm in North FL who said he only runs FL and GA.

I started in a bigger truck, then had some bonehead turn into me and wreck it. Besides having one of the trucks that still ran 75, getting stuck in one of the smaller ones sucked. The fridge is a cooler. You could put a few drinks in it and that’s about it. It had next to zero storage. Even the bed was smaller.

If I were forced to guess I would say yes, but that’s above my pay grade. I do know we have a lot of dairy around there and loads that go from Indiana to South Carolina and Virginia too. You could always call the Georgia terminal and ask Kris what he thinks and what he has available in your area. He’s a good guy and a savvy dispatcher.

The guy I brought over here from my previous company had to use one for a few months while getting his engine rebuilt (Cummins defect) and said the same thing. He said the fridge/cooler worked good and would freeze if you wanted it to, but he did mention it was smaller. I’m glad those are being phased out. I guess if a guy was home every 2-3 days running regional or local it wouldn’t be a big deal, but I wouldn’t want to live in one of those for 6 to 8 weeks at a time doing long hauls.

Yeah the fridge would freeze but it would just freeze everything in it if you set it that low. I wound up doing local not that long after i got in it, so I wound up not caring. But yeah no way I’d want to have to stay in that size truck for an extended amount of time

I bought an additional fridge for my truck several months ago when I started carrying a George Foreman grill. It’s an Apicool C30 compressor model about the size of an ice chest. It plugs into 110 or cigarette lighter and will go to minus 4 degrees. I use it for a deep freeze to carry ribeye steaks and pre made hamburger patties, then I use the factory fridge for condiments, drinks, etc. For $250 on Amazon it was a good investment. I got tired of paying $30 for a sit down dinner at the Iron Skillet. I cook my potatoes in the microwave and keep canned veggies for the sides. I figure if the factory fridge ever goes bad I can turn the temp up on mine and use it for a backup. I have a mid roof truck, but it has a bunk bed that I use for a big shelf. Works pretty good.

I also built a sink cabinet that I mounted on top of the desk console. I installed a 15x15 “bar sink” in it with a 12V RV fresh water pump and stuck a 7 gallon fresh water tank in the console cabinet. It’s probably the best mod I ever did to my truck. No more being married to the truck stops every night. I can wash my hands, brush my teeth, rinse my coffee mug out, etc. anywhere I park now. I refill the water tank each time I’m inside a customer’s bay. 7 gallons lasts about 5 days.

After years of being on the road I finally got a microwave for my truck. Finally got tired of Chester’s chicken and roller dogs. I wish iron skillet would bring back the buffet.

Yeah, that's the North FL dairy I was referring to. We have quite a few tanks there for a drop and hook operation...when the dairy isn't running behind schedule like it was last weekend.
