I have no idea what this I’m guessing partial statement means. I didn’t say you couldn’t make money you can make money riding around the neighborhood raking leaves. I said just because it’s on the internet doesn’t make it true the same is true in your case if you’re even trying to say you were paid $8500 for a 491 mile trip with a van load you pick up one day delivering the next. that never happened. He was showing a very similar partial computer shot you’re showing.

I looked at them all. All ####. Call assentium and finance a truck, if you have a 25,000 cash reserve....

If you plan on keeping the truck, I’d suggest you go to a dealer, and sign on with a carrier, most companies, if you do end up with the truck you’ll be paying far more than it’s worth, JMO! Do some research on used truck lots, see if one has a decent history, good luck

Only "lease purchase" program that I ever knew 100% worth fooling with, was with Johnson Motor Lines out of Charlotte, NC on their Special Commodity division. Now we are talking years ago, but this program could be implemented today, if trucking companies were not so greedy and fair in their business practices.
Let me , in a "nut shell", explain what JML had in place. $2000 up front, not a "down payment", but the start of a maintenance fund. You were put in a brand new International. Payments were 10 cpm, maintenance fund 5 cpm, until $4500 was reached. If you did not run, you did not make payments. I knew a driver who was out for 6 months due to a medical issue. The truck sit in his driveway the whole 6 months, no repossession. When he came back to work, his payments started back. You could get work done at JML locations at fleet prices. Trouble on the road, call the company and a PO was issued and it was withdrawn from your maintenance fund. No force dispatch. The drivers on Special Commodities were Teamsters as the company drivers were. Pay was on the 2 checks system, one for the truck and one for the driver. I could continue, but I hope that I have painted the picture that can be understood. It was an upright, ethical program for a driver wishing to be an O/O. Oh, JML had "yards" that an O/O could go to and park, sleep and wait on the next load. No hanging around a truck stop or rest area.Gearjammin' Penguin, Another Canadian driver, nredfor88 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well I would give some recommendations of who to go to if I myself could fund one I think I can trust or that pays a decent wage.
Most of the companies seem to offer 1.10 to 1.20 a mile or 70 to 80 percentage of load.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
never go the per mile route, it’s a recipe for disaster. 80% of good paying work with total transparency, especially contracted dedicated work would be the best route. Not all lease purchases are disasters , just most. I did one in the 90’s and did well financially. It was tough commando type work though . Lol. It was for a large supermarket warehouse in NJ delivering into NYC and the 5 Boros hand unloading onto rollers out the side doors , double parked in bad neighborhoods.lol. Paid about $10 a mile if you broke it down by the mile , but I put $4k a week in my pocket with a cheap truck , very little fuel and home everyday. Most here wouldn’t do that work at gunpoint , and at 58 years old , but in good physical condition, I wouldn’t want to do that work anymore myself.
