Just thought I could save someone before they made a huge mistake. Okay, you may have seen the pretty Petes running down the road with all the chicken lights and think, boy I bet they are a good company to drive for? Well, let me describe how great they are: For starters, they run looseleaf logs, sure it sounds good...but there is a reason. When you latch onton one of the meat loads and take it East, you pretty much have to BS the logs the whole way...you pretty much will get dispatched at 70+ mph, even though youre truck only runs 67 (on a good day). Next, they avoid the Indiana and Ohio toll roads, so you are stuck on these friggin two lane roads (20), and you could use 30....but dont expect to get paid the miles, even though the mileage they give you is coming from the toll roads....but shhh(we werent supposed to know that). If you ever get down to Florida with a load, forget it...you'll sit for 3 days until they can "find you a load", but that also has something to do with a brainless half-wit named John who covers the Southeast region down there. Tolls are paid out of your pocket....(yeah, real nice).
What else, oh, you'll love this one...cause it just happend to me: They have this piece of paper that you have to sign when you go through orientation that states, you are required to give a 2 week notice if you decide to leave the company, if you dont they charge you $50 a day up to $500 for leaving before the 2 weeks(pretty shady but whatever). So, last week when I spoke to ####(the owners kid), I told him I was giving my 2 weeks as I had to find a job that offers bennefits(whch triple C doesnt).....I had a load coming out of Rochester,NY going to Denver. Okay, no problem....I was ready to do my last two weeks then turn the truck in and head home. This was Thursday....I had to be in Denver by Saturday night at 2200. So Thursday afternoon as I spoke to one of my buddies at the company I found out I was to drop my load off at the yard and turn the truck in then?? Huh...what happend to my two weeks!!! So Friday afternoon I pull into the yard and drop my trailer....then that was it. So....I get my final paycheck today from the company and guess what...the $500 bucks was taken from my check??? After I gave my 2 weeks and they told me to bring the truck back the next day??? Explain to me how thats supposed to work.
So, just some advice...if your thinking about applying or working for these guys...dont. They talk and smile through their teeth the whole time they are talking to you. Im taking this problem to the Nebraska labor board, this isnt the first time they have done this. They just recently got hammered by the Labor Board.........
Anyways, I hope this will help some of you out........

I would also like to add, after reviewing my final paycheck in better detail....they never paid me for 2700miles that I ran before I left. Also...my termination date was listed 2 weeks prior to me giving them my two weeks notice....that still blows my mind. Too bad I have my logs proving that I ran the miles.....so maybe they didnt think about that.... and another thing is they screwed up my tax form: by that I mean, according to my tax form they never paid my NY State taxes....but on my last paystub it also shows I made just over $8300 in January. WOW.....I must have been rolling in the cash. Anyways, just wanted to go deeper into how bad these guys will take advantage of you!!!!!!!!

UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE!!!!!!! WOW...what a turn of events, Just got off the phone with one of the owners of the company....and as I explained what had happend and everything that had been wrong, the items were resolved. This was done by remaining calm on the phone and setteling it on a calm level...there was no shouting or any crazy thing like that. It was handeled very professionally and respectfully. It seems it was due to a couple of minor clerical errors and things getting mixed up, but all items have been resolved. Still the whole thing was a little suspicous....but it has been resolved. So.....Im glad I didnt have to take this any further. On that note....I just want to say thank you.... to C & V White.

So they paid you now?
-
I was told (by one of the owners)they are going to re-imburse me for everything, so Im guessing they are sending me a final payment. So yeah, i guess you can say that they are paying me.
-
..."minor clerical errors" .... I doubt it ... like most companies, they wanted to see if you would actually notice the missing money and call them out on it. There are many drivers that don't keep records and have no idea how much they are owed on payday.Lonesome and bullhaulerswife Thank this.

ive beeen with triple c for over a year now what a joke this place is

Why are you still their?
Why would anyone work for a company with low pay, no benefits, not paid on actual route dispatched on and your running illegal most of the time. I am just not talking about this company but any company that operates like this. This is the way it was at one time but drivers this is 2010 why work so hard for nothing, all your doing is hurting yourself and the company don't care and their laughing all the way to the bank. And yes I am talking from experience. Work smarter, not harder.
But I guess their will always be the guys that like to drive someone else's large car and pay to do so. -
because i make decent money is why im still here driver
