As a female im concerned about my safety like most and was wondering if im allowed to bring a “buddy” along to supervise my otr training? And also is all training overnight or is there a chance to be in my own home each night so I dont have to sleep with a trainer? Lastly, what company has the shortest time training behind the wheel?

Schneider has the shortest training time.
CFI is big time pro-female drivers.

Sadly...FozzyNOK (the above post) has a good point.

Even after all the training is over with....and you are assigned to a tractor....you will more than likely at some point make a delivery (or deliveries) that is/are in a "questionable" area.

If you decide to do "reefer" work--those deliveries routinely treat other men with blatant disrespect. I wouldn't expect you to fair any better (& perhaps worse).

    Either:

    a) Take a good self-defense course--& then go into trucking....or...

    b) Find another line of work.

Also: when looking at different carriers--ask if you can get a lady trainer.

As a Schneider veteran--yes, Chinatown (above) is very likely correct--your time out on the road with a trainer will be very short (a week--maybe less).

CFI Temp-Control has female drivers that have been there for years; couple of decades. Female trainers for new female drivers.

Trucking is a good career and rewarding financially. Even a man can succeed. If a man can succeed, then easy-peasy for a woman.

I know Bison will put you up in your own hotel room if out training with the opposite sex. I would imagine you’d find another Mega that will do that.
